9 Beers & Ciders to Spice Up the Fall

Beer and pumpkins

The thought of Summer coming to an end may seem like a huge buzz-kill, but the dwindling days of summer brews is also a sign that the frenzy of a certain Fall flavor will soon commence. The glorious season of hop harvests, Fall festivals, and pumpkin-galore is creeping up quickly. So put down your citrusy IPAs and Summer Pale Ales and get ready for the season of all-pumpkin-everything! Rolling out over the next couple of weeks, here is our beer and cider lineup for spicing up the Fall.

1. ACE Cider Pumpkin

First produced in the fall of 2010, our Ace Pumpkin cider is a seasonal favorite. It's unique orange color and full rich flavor will leave you craving more. Ace Pumpkin is perfect for the pumpkin lover that just can't get enough. Ideal for Halloween and Thanksgiving, this cider pairs well with turkey or beef. Our pumpkin cider also makes a great snakebite when mixed with a heavy lager. ABV: 5.0%

2. Bells Octoberfest

Crafted as a flavorful session beer and perfect for Autumn, Octoberfest spends a full six weeks fermenting. With herbal hop aromas, this balanced amber lager focuses on lightly toasted malt that lends body without too much sweetness. Perfect for a week-long wedding celebration in Germany or the start of the California autumn. ABV: 5.50%

3. 2 Towns Hollow Jack'd

Extra mischievous, Hollow Jack'd takes our fall classic of fresh-pressed apples, caramelized pumpkins, and sweet potatoes that are finished with local honey and spices to a whole new level. ABV: 8.4%

4. Enegren Oktoberfest

Enegren Oktoberfest is a traditional Bavarian Märzen style lager brewed with imported German Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts. These malts give our Oktoberfest a beautiful orange color and a full-bodied, malty sweet flavor with hints of honey, nuts, and caramel. Prost! ABV: 5.5%

5. Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale

Nestled in the heart of bourbon country where bourbon barrels outnumber people, Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company produces a Barrel-Aged seasonal series that capitalizes on its close proximity to the region and the changing taste preferences of the seasons. All of these beers are producted in Kentucky, aged in freshly decanted Kentucky bourbon barrels, 100% barrel aged, and produced in bourbon barrels only used once.

6. Epic Brewing

The essence of the fall! This beer explodes the aromas of sweet spices giving way to chocolate and complimented by hints of clove, fresh Madagascar vanilla beans, nutmeg, and all spice. ABV: 8.0%

7. Ninkasi Brewing Oktoberfest

Every September, six million people make a kind of pilgrimage to the Bavarian capital of Munich. They've come to celebrate one thing: beer. Oktoberfest is our handheld homage to the great harvest festival. Notice the amber-clear hue, the color of the last day of Summer. The flavors of grass, grains, and earthy hops, with just a bit of bitterness. ABV: 5.5%

8. Left Hand Oktoberfest Marzen Lager

This is no festivus for the restuvus - on the contrary - we start brewing in the Spring and it takes a full two months to reach lagered perfection. Biscuity, malty goodness dominates upfront while the noble pedigree hops lend a properly spicy, dry finish. Time to roast your chicken and upend your stein before the air gets crisp, the leaves flame and fall and the skies fade to black. Auf geht's! ABV: 6.6%

9. Knee Deep Midnight Hoppyness Imperial Black Rye IPA

This imperial black rye IPA has both a dark malt and high hop flavor: why have one or the other when you can have both? The rich malt flavor is complimented by a distinct yet balanced hop presence. Aromas and flavors of citrusy hops merge with a mild chocolate-like malt character. ABV: 9.5%
