This month we're giving a shout out to our friends over at New English Brewing Company. If you haven't been by their tasting room, this place is surely worth a visit. Owner and brewmaster Simon Lacey and his crew focus on big, flavorful, yet balanced beers that run the gamut from ESBs and brown ales to intense IPAs and imperial stouts.
Simon pays homage to his UK roots with the production of traditional English styles (often served on cask) and the use of English hops and malt, but also tests his hand at more modern-day American styles with a twist. Their Zumbar Chocolate Coffee Imperial Stout is an example of just how well this brewery can push the envelope. Brewed in conjunction with local coffee roaster, Zumbar Coffee & Tea, this Ratebeer 97 Point Russian Imperial Stout is made with whole bean coffee and two pounds per barrel of decadent Belgian chocolate.
